#oneweek100people2017- day five! (+bonus)

It was really no need in the fifth day, as I already had 144 people sketched! But it was Purim period and I couldn't help not to sketch some people in costumes.
The first sketch was done while eating falafel in "Falafel in Square" chain.

The second one - at the evening in my favorite "Thai House", celebrating with my family.

And here is the bonus sketch I did at the day of tomorrow passing at Rothschild boulevard In Tel Aviv.

So, my final score for the 5 days of challenge is 162 people! (not including the last Purim bonus)
It was fun to join to the plague and to feel a part of something big. I didn't do any special efforts to change my routine, but I do looked more for opportunities to sketch, what reminded me my hunger to sketch when I arrive to the new places, not to forget to be a constant tourist!

Meeting Nefertiti at Tel Aviv

Urban sketcher always attracts people. It's easy to start conversation with someone sitting at the middle of the street and drawing his surrounding. It can be just a few words, someone would drop while passing by, or it can start real conversation and sometimes connection.
Last time I met my friend and fellow sketcher Nathan at the "Congress Bazel" bar, our sketching meetings almost always accompanied by some food ;) After finishing plate with hummus and shawarma we had a perfect mood for sketching customers of this very typical Tel-Avian place.

Suddenly, colorful woman with dreadlocks designed into a tall tower on her head approached our table and started to talk to us. After a while, he and her husband passed to seat with us and we continued chatting as an old friends and sketching them, of course! She told us the she's also an artist (sure!), she's painting on a flour kind of oriental carpets (she showed us pictures). She also communicates with spirits and ghosts (of course!), if we need once. They live in kibbutz and are inviting us to come and to be their guests whenever we want. From the first glance Etti (that's her name) reminded me the Egyptian queen Nefertiti, because of her hair style. "Don't I look like Nefertiti?" - she asked me while I was drawing her.

Sketching really opens a gateway the people's hearts.

At last Friday morning, sunny and cold, we met at the Yemen Vineyardfor for the sketchcrawl . I love this beautiful corner of Tel Aviv, full of nostalgic atmosphere, colorful characters, and authentic food. Everybody found there a lot of nice stories, and here are mine:

Warming up towards Barcelona :-)

Here are some sketches I did in Tapeo - tapas bar in Tel Aviv with very much spirit of Barcelona. The place design is inspired by Gaudi architecture style with its curved lines and mosaics. We set on the bar and it was perfect point for capturing people sitting on the opposite side and sunk in their conversations.

It was good warming up towards the real thing - USk Symposium in Barcelona!

Short trip to the north

From time to time my husband and me succeed to manage short trips by our own - without the kids. Here are some sketches that I did during our short trip to the north part of the country during this weekend.  Our first stop was at Nazareth - beautiful city full of history.
at Nazareth we ate the best hummus ever!

Food for thought

Yesterday was an opening of an exhibition organized by Israel Association of Illustrators, in which I took a part. The subject of the exhibition is food - very wide subject, so is the variety of styles and interpretations in illustrators works.
Here are my works, kind of placemates, decorated by sketches of people eating:

Actually, that's what I often do - sketching people eating near me directly on my placemat ;-)
