It was very special sketchcrawl, dedicated to 15th Birthday of one of our group's youngest members Noamy. Noamy's sketches are always inspire me, her vision and hand are so fresh and she succeed not to fall to an automatic solutions and approaches. We all tend to fall into our comfort zone, to use tools and techniques we're "good" in, and for me it's very inspiring to see bold brave voice full of talent.
Orna, Noamy's mother, hosted us in her beautiful and very artistic house in Jaffa. It's amazing that short time after everybody arrived, greeted each other and chatted a bit, suddenly the house became silent and the scribbling of pencils were the only noise in the air :)
It was a nice opportunity to sketch other sketches - something I don't allow to myself usually at our sketchcrawls.

The smell of summer
Gentle spring weather was perfect to enjoy the beaches in theirs best. Here are some sketches I did during the last month at different beaches in Tel Aviv - as always plenty of characters and atmosphere.

At Loveat again
Here are some more sketches done in the different branches of coffee shop Loveat - I was checking places for our Sketchcrawls.
Every place has it's internal pace and life of its own. When you come the same place several times, you start to see familiar faces, feel more at home.
I tried out different points of view and different materials, looking for the sketch that tells the story best. But maybe all of them are telling the different side of the same story.
See you tomorrow at the sketchcrawl, sure will find some more stories!

Can you draw me?
Last week I finally managed to visit my friend's Aurore new studio at Old Jaffa. As usual, sketching together was one of our plans, so we sat down at the Kikar Kedumim square, which was filled by bright rays of the end of the February sun.
I tried out my new oil pastels:
And did this very quick watercolor sketch of the opposite side of the square:
Groups of tourists were constantly filling and leaving the square: Japanese, Indian, European Christian... One of the groups that came there was a group of local Arab pupils - they approached us and started with the usual questions: What are you drawing? Why? Who's paying you? When it became clear to them that we're doing it for free and for fun, one the boys asked me to draw him. Of course I agreed, and after I finished, he asked me to sketch one of the girls ( the most beautiful, with the pink scarf). I think they both were happy with the results and they wrote their names in Arabic and Hebrew.
I love interaction with people on the street, these rear moments make me feel like a real urban sketcher :)
