Rally against "Culture Loyalty Law"

Sketches from rally against "Culture Loyalty Law" - bill conditioning arts funding on ‘loyalty’, which advance our Minister of Culture.
More than thousand artists from different areas gathered yesterday night to say that they will not give up on freedom of expression. "Nobody can't take from us the right to think, to imagine, to create..." - were words of one of the speakers. I want to believe that such a law can't pass here.

Rally against the deportation

Maybe I'm naive, but being yesterday together with tens thousands of people protesting against the deportation of refugees in South Tel Aviv made feel hopeful. Hopeful that after all we're all human and that what will lead us at the final.

Sketching with BIC pen

I love my 4 color BIC ballpoint pen - perfect for quick sketches, with one pen only in your hand you can express almost anything!
Following are three sketches that was drawn at the wedding. Each sketch was done after one more glass of wine. You can see how my stokes changed as well ;)

Beit Romano - always great place for drink and draw
couple in the bar

Last two sketches - from the concert of our friend Ronan  - it's always fabulous to draw music!

Sketching movement

It's fascinating to watch human body in movement. To sketch it - is really challenging but so enjoyable! It takes time to dare to do the first line. It looks impossible to capture constantly changing postures, expressions, turning body to something different all the time. How to capture pace, rhythm, effort, flexibility, flow? The only way is to start sketching, line after line, page after page, slowly entering inside and feeling a part of the group of moving people.
Here is my attempt on sketching AcroYoga class last week at Beit Hanna - nice place in Tel Aviv, providing various activities for your body and your soul, which will host an exhibition called "Illustrating in Movement" during upcoming Illustration Week.
It was so fun!

Music, to draw it!

Yesterday I was sketching at very cool event - "Music, to draw it!" It was organized by Tel-Avivian internet radio station Teder, which consistently organizes music evens in various styles. People in all ranges of age - young, old, families with children, were sitting by the tables equipped by markers and paper, and drawing, accompanying by music. Great local beer and pizza were adding to the atmosphere. Without a doubt, music and drawing (and beer) - is the perfect formula :)

Trip to South America - part IV - connection in Madrid.

So, we left Rio and landed in Madrid, where we had a 12 hours waiting to our connection flight. Great opportunity to taste some tapas and to do some sketches :)
