Graphite sketches + Photoshop coloring

I was playing with some of my sketches by adding color and textures in Photoshop.

adding color and texture
Plain graphite pencil can be very rich and colorful, for my opinion. But color and texture can emphasis different details and to show drawing in a different way.
So, what option do you prefer?

  1. I love both, but the color options are amazing. I love how you finish the first. The change of position has made that the drawing much more effective. I can see the football match and the intensity of the game.

  2. Love the colours, Marina... am teaching myself various photoshop skills right now (though with photographs, not drawings - but great to use these modern technologies - would love to know what tools you used for the photoshop, especially in this last blue drawing...?

    1. Ruth, thank you very much! Technologies are nice thing indeed. Actually, I've scanned some hand-made textures (acrylic, pencil, etching) and add them as additional layers to the pencil sketch, playing with colors and different layer's modes.

  4. I LOVe how you applied color to your sketches!
I think rough shapes work better than the machine-made (scribbles versus circles) but those add some interesting layer too...
    Hope to see more!
