It was really wonderful experience - I was honored to take a part in Vor Ort - an exhibition and a workshop project organized and hosted by Landesmuseum Mainz and Jenny Adam in association with Urban Sketchers, Teaching and exhibiting with such a great group of sketchers and friends: Lapin Barcelona, Sebastian Koch, Johanna Krimmel, Inma Serrano, and Felix Scheinberger.
Now, when I'm back home, left with my sketches and memories, which remind me this fabulous weekend - perfect combination of exhibition, workshops and, the most fun - a lot of great interactions between us, sketchers, coming from different backgrounds, different countries, but having so much in common! ♥
Here you can see some photos from my workshop "Face to Face" - all the participants did just great, practicing portraits in not traditional approach, trying to get real likeness, connecting to the emotional side, seeing personality in each character and, finally, finding and telling stories with the portrait!!! it was so fun!
Now, I'm warmed up very well for Porto USk Symposium - see you there!!!!!

Drink&draw at "Suzanna"
Here are some sketches I did during our small drink&draw we had with with a bunch of friends-sketchers in "Suzanna" - coffee shop at Neve Zedek. Few hours flied as a one minute - I think I could do it all the day along - chatting, drinking and sketching with my friends.

Sketching the "storm"
The year has started in Israel with "stormy" weather. Ok, it's probably regular European autumn weather, but here we're waiting for some "wind+rain+even snow" all the year. As a Russian-born girl, few drops of rain couldn't frighten me, and yesterday in company of two other brave fellow sketchers we went to sketch the storm ;)
We've set down in a coffee shop on the beach, and as the beach was totally erased by the wild waves, I felt like I was sitting directly by the sea.
It's so difficult to transform the atmosphere, the sounds, the salty smell... But it was a great experience, and that what's matter at the end!

Hello my friend!
My friend Aurore went with her family to her homeland, France, for the rest of the summer.
I'm posting here some sketchers from my sketchbook I didn't upload - done during our last meetings.

Goodbye sketchcrawl on the beach
Yesterday my friend Doron and I met up with our friend Aurore, who's leaving us for the whole summer to France (poor girl :-)) We set our meting at the Charles Clore (MantaRay) Beach and after refreshing ourselves in soft Mediterranean waters we dried out with sketchbooks in the hands :-)
Then we moved to Alma Beach bar, at the back of the fancy MantaRay restaurant, continuing chatting and sketching.

What can I say? friends+beach+sketching=happiness!!!
