Here are the last illustrations I did for the story in "Einaiym" (Eyes) magazine. This time I wanted to do it in colored pencils only, playing a bit with overlay of different layers. It was fun!
Marina Grechanik Artist, Illustrator, Urban Sketcher, Art Educator Hello, my name is Marina Grechanik, I graduated from an Art College in Mink, Belorussia. I’m an illustrator, artist, urban sketcher, art educator and owner of an art studio in Jaffa. I would always draw and sketch from time to time. There were some periods in my life when I didn’t have ‘proper’ time for my "art", running between job and family. Then I decided to put a sketchbook into my bag and to draw between my daily tasks. Little by little I filled one sketchbook and then another one. Sketching became part of me, part of my way of experiencing my daily routine. 12 years ago I was invited by the founder of Urban Sketchers Gabi Campanario to be one of the 100 correspondents from all over the world on the USk blog . Few years after that I initiated the USk Israel group - regularly leading sketchcrawls, coordinating the Urban Sketchers Israel blog and organized and curated a few group exhibitio...
Jaffa's colorful flea market is one of my favorite places. Furniture and jewelry, toys and books, from east and west, ugly and beautiful - it's full of mixed stuff and so are people that came to sell, to buy, or simply to hang out and to feel the atmosphere. This Friday it was double fun for me to come here, because we set at this place the meeting point for our monthly Sketchcrawl. So instead of finding interesting things to buy, I was busy by finding stories to sketch, and I didn't need to go far at all! We started over nice cup of coffee sitting together with my fellow sketchers, busy by chatting. my friend Rachel and the street ant the background view on the coffee shop where I was sitting earlier flea market behind the coffee shop another point of view to the market colorful announcement's board above view to the coffee shop from the second flour Lucky me, I've got everything together in one day - perfect company, perfect place and per...
