Pre-Purim in Shapira garden

Image
It was another wonderful sketchcrawl in Shapira neighborhood coffeeshop-garden. I love this place - it feels like a small village in the middle of Tel Aviv, still keeps its authentic sense. Its residents are very varied -  veteran ones are pushed aside by many young families looking for cheaper places in the City That Never Stops. Time flied  so fast - it was so many wonderful characters I wanted to draw! Here are some I got to capture :)

Home gouaches

I love gouache, but it's difficult to manage it and all the equipment when I sketch outside. At home it's easier, and I have always have plenty of models.

Dragons at Hayarkon park

Image
Last Friday we had our sketchcrawl at the Hayarkon Park, where the Dragon Boats Festival took a place. It was the first time I saw this colorful competition - a lot of variegated long Chinese boats, decorated with dragon heads and tails, floated in a high speed along the Hayarkon river. The familiar park suddenly turned to an exotic place, and we were happy to capture the atmosphere. At the end I couldn't resist to sketch the dogs garden - the festival didn't influence the dogs and theirs owners playing together ;) It was perfect get together as always - combination of great place in a great company with sketchbook in the hand!

November beach

Image
Some sketches I did on one of Jaffa's beaches at one of perfect November days. Dog and his owner - don't they look alike? tourist in red swimming suit and a fisherman beach panorama pigeons - the lords of the beach the food at the end, as usual!
